Andy and I visited the Duquesne
Incline before the girls went back to
college in August.  To think I've lived
here most of my life and never took a
ride!  What a treat of nostalgia.  Plus,
the view is stunning!

We parked at Station Square in a free
lot along the river and climbed the
steps to the overpass.  See  Andy,
Ruth and Susie above.  I am behind
the camera, as usual.
We crossed the highway and entered
the building and bought a round trip
ticket for $16.00 (for the four of us).

To think that steelworkers used to ride
an uncovered cable car in the winter.
Brr!  At the top is a museum with
mostly interesting articles and maps, a
room where you can watch the pulleys
and gears in action and of course,
the viewing platform.

Take along some quarters to put in the
viewer for close-ups, and make
yourself a souvenir penny for a very
small fee.  You can even buy a hot dog
and drinks from a vendor, but there
are no restroom facilities.

Most of all,
Enjoy the View!
